It was reported that 10 bodies were found in the mass grave identified on the Tripoli road in the village of Mezera, west of Homs. Efforts to identify the bodies are ongoing.
According to data from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), since the fall of the Baath regime, 48 mass graves containing a total of 2,854 bodies have been found across Syria.
SOHR data also show that six mass graves were found in Deir ez-Zor, containing 114 bodies, including six children. In the Damascus countryside, 10 mass graves (218 bodies) were found; in Hama, seven mass graves (47 bodies); in Homs, 14 mass graves (295 bodies, including three children and four women); in Daraa, five mass graves (141 bodies); in Damascus, three mass graves (1,025 bodies); in Idlib, two mass graves (10 bodies); and in Aleppo, one mass grave containing four bodies.
