YJA Star guerrilla: Women can build a free society if they unite

YJA Star (Free Women’s Troops) guerrilla Hêvî Azadî spoke to ANF on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25.

Hêvî Azadî began her speech by greeting all women who fight against violence against women, stating: “Because violence against women exists everywhere in the world, the struggle against this violence is very important in terms of women asserting their own identities and consciousness. We send our greetings and love to all women who are standing up for their essence and their past through their actions these days. Today, the ruling powers have usurped the values created by women. Women can only defend their existence through struggle. As the YJA Star forces, we are waging a struggle in the mountains based on the philosophy and ideas of the Leader.

Within society, the male-dominated mindset targets women’s weakest points. As a result, women are murdered, subjected to violence, and ignored every day within the system. Women must unite, organize, and fight back against these attacks. The male-dominated mindset murders women every day under the guise of “love.” Capitalism exerts the most pressure on women in society and seeks to destroy women’s unity the most. It intimidates women with violence, preventing them from embracing their essence and being themselves. Current regimes use violence and oppression against women to stay in power.

Just as society has been fragmented in the person of women, it must be rebuilt around the identity of women. This unity will create freedom within itself, equality between women and men, and a free society. Without unity, there can be no organization. Individual freedom cannot ensure general freedom. Therefore, if women seek to wage a strong struggle against male-dominated powers, they must form their unity. If all women unite, they can build a free society. To achieve that, they must organize.”
