Guerrilla Şoreş: The enchanted life was granted to me as well

Kurdish guerrilla Şoreş Serhed spoke to ANF on the occasion of the PKK’s 47th anniversary.

Serhed said that this year’s anniversary celebrations are more important and meaningful than those of any previous year, adding that after 47 years of struggle marked by great victories, they have entered a new phase with the Democratic Society and Peace Process initiated by President Abdullah Öcalan.

Emphasizing that the essential task is to revive and expand the struggle in the heart, spirit, and mind based on the PKK’s experience and values, Şoreş Serhed continued: “It was the PKK that created within us the socialist, communal, Apoist way of life and spirit. Through 52 years of Apoist struggle and 47 years of party struggle, we have passed through an unrelenting and breathless stage. Upon this, unparalleled and immense values were built. Based on these values, today all of Kurdistan and the world are watching Leader Apo [Abdullah Öcalan]. With the transformation foreseen by Leader Apo, the struggle will continue stronger, better, newer, and more successful than ever before. By carrying the legacy, values, and spirit the PKK has left us within ourselves, we believe we will once again secure Kurdistan’s victory. Our stance and determination are grounded in this.”

Life built by the PKK will continue

Guerrilla Şoreş Serhed described the most important matter for the Apoist fighters who embody and struggle for Leader Apo’s philosophy as follows: “When one speaks of the PKK, what comes to mind is justice, equality, and an ethical and political life. To experience such an enchanted way of living has been granted to us, just as it has been to every Apoist militant. We lived the Apoist life within the PKK through unforgettable memories. The PKK’s approach to women, to nature, and to free and equal living, and the philosophy of Leader Apo reflected through the PKK, has taken root in every cell of our being, in our very spirit. Even if the PKK has been dissolved and its method of struggle has changed, the equal life, rights, law, and justice it has built within society—and which always flows in our spirit—will continue forever. This life will grow stronger with a democratic society. We will further expand and sustain an equal, free, free women and ecological life.”
