PUK hosts DEM Party delegation in Hewlêr

Seedî Ehmed Pîre, member of the Politburo of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), and members of the PUK Executive Committee hosted a delegation from the DEM Party in Hewlêr yesterday.

The DEM Party delegation congratulated the PUK on its victory in the elections and expressed its gratitude for the PUK’s stance on the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people and the peace process in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey.

The DEM Party delegation included Murad Şen, Head of the DEM Party Representative Office, and Aziz Tatlısöz and Abdulkerim Alp, members of the DEM Party Kurdistan Region Representation.

Speaking on behalf of the PUK, Seedî Ehmed Pîre said: “We extend our thanks to the DEM Party delegation. The PUK will maintain its national stance on the implementation of constitutional processes related to the legitimate rights and demands of our people, particularly those concerning the destiny and future of our people.”

Expressing the PUK’s full support for the peace process, Seedî Ehmed Pîre called on everyone to make sincere efforts for the success of the ongoing process in Turkey. He stated that this process is the only way to resolve the intractable problems between the Kurdish and Turkish peoples.

The DEM Party expressed their satisfaction with the meeting, stating, “We feel that PUK representatives stand for the legitimate cause of the Kurdish people throughout Kurdistan. We see them as representatives of Northern Kurdistan as well.”

The meeting also touched upon the efforts and struggle of Jalal Talabani, who had spearheaded the peace process in Turkey and Northern Kurdistan in the early 1990s.
