The Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Initiative organized a series of meetings to introduce Öcalan’s paradigm in Patagonia, the homeland of Lêgerîn Çîya (Alina Sánchez), who fell a martyr in Rojava in 2018.
The region is notable for being the site of the historic struggle of the indigenous Mapuche people and for being one of the areas in Argentina with the most intense conflicts.

Journalist and member of the Abya Yala Feminists, Claudia Korol, who wrote the foreword to Öcalan’s Sociology of Freedom, participated in the programs.
Korol shared her observations, noting that she personally knew martyr Lêgerîn and that she was part of the delegation that traveled to Rojava last April.
Claudia Korol emphasized that the paradigm developed by Öcalan has become a concrete social transformation in Rojava Kurdistan through the women’s revolution.
Throughout the meetings, discussions focused on Öcalan’s ideas and the Kurdish people’s struggle for freedom. Participants showed particular interest in gaining a deeper understanding of the Democratic Modernity paradigm.
Many attendees stated that sharing Öcalan’s ideas represents “an act of resistance against the Imrali regime” and expressed their support for his freedom.
