Elections in Iraq: Electronic and manual vote counts give identical results

Special voting for Iraq’s 6th parliamentary elections took place yesterday, with the general voting set for tomorrow. Jumana Halayi, spokesperson for the Independent High Electoral Commission of Iraq, stated that the results of both the electronic and manual counts were the same.

Halayi added that the results had been shared with political parties, noting, “No issues occurred during the voting process, and elections were conducted smoothly at all polling stations.”

In yesterday’s special voting for Iraq’s 6th parliamentary elections, held across Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, voter turnout was reported at 82 percent.
