Three ISIS members arrested in Deir ez-Zor countryside

The Internal Security Forces of the North and East Syria Region issued a statement announcing the details of an operation directed against an ISIS cell in the northern countryside of Deir ez-Zor on the morning of November 6.

Accordingly, the operation was carried out by the Anti-Terror Forces (HAT) and the General Security Center, with the support of the Internal Security Forces.

“The operation was carried out within the framework of ongoing efforts to identify organizational targets in the region and neutralize terrorist elements. Our forces carefully monitored the movements of the terrorist cell before raiding the target areas. The mercenaries’ cell area was brought under control without any of our personnel being harmed,” said the statement on Friday.

The statement reported that three ISIS cell members were captured during the operation and weapons, documents, and communication equipment were seized.

Security forces announced that investigations were being conducted on the arrested mercenaries who would subsequently be referred to judicial authorities.
