JinNews: At least 25 women were murdered in Turkey in October

According to the October report on violence against women compiled by JinNews, 25 women and one child were murdered in Turkey, while eight women and three children died under suspicious circumstances.

The majority of women were victims of men closest to them; one was killed by her child, three by men with whom they were in the process of divorce, eight by men they were married, three by men they had broken up with, five by men they had divorced, two by men they knew. The relationship of three slain women to the perpetrator is unknown.

The femicides during October were perpetrated in at least 16 cities, with İzmir leading the list with 5 murders and Istanbul with 4 murders.
