Speaking during the 2026 budget discussions at the Parliamentary Planning and Budget Commission, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament Numan Kurtulmuş touched upon the work of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, which, he said, strives to raise the standards of peace, tranquility, security, and democracy.
Kurtulmuş stated, “I hope that with the other steps we will take in the shortest possible time, the commission will complete its work on the regulations both within the framework of the hearings and the steps taken, and will submit its report to Parliament.”
Emphasizing that the commission is not preparing a constitution, he said, “This is not a commission that expresses the views of a political party. This commission was formed by our political parties, which represent almost the entire society in Turkey, and came together to ensure national unity and fraternity.”
