Justice Minister: We support efforts to ensure the success of the process

Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç made statements following today’s meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission established in Parliament as part of the Peace and Democratic Society Process.

Tunç stated that he had attended today’s session, shared his views on the process and answered questions from members of parliament, saying, “It is a very important commission, and its work is extremely valuable.”

Emphasizing that the country was going through a historic process, Tunç recalled that heavy prices had been paid in both economic and humanitarian terms during the conflict processes.

“Our only wish is that our country will not experience these losses and this suffering again,” said the minister, adding, “We support efforts to ensure the success of the process. As the Ministry of Justice, we have shared with the commission our efforts to date to resolve issues arising from administrative practices in order to facilitate the process and ensure its success.”

Tunç stated that matters requiring legal regulations related to the process were at the discretion of the Parliament, saying: “The Assembly’s will is going to be decisive in this matter. We will continue our work in line with the decisions taken by the Commission, the roadmap it will draw up, and the common will it will express on behalf of the nation.”
