840 Iraqis leave Hol Camp under the supervision of the International Coalition

Within the framework of joint coordination between the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria and the Iraqi Parliament’s Refugee Security Committee, another group of Iraqis left Hol Camp. According to ANHA news agency, the refugees set off for Iraq this morning in a convoy.

The convoy consists of 249 families (840 people) who will be settled in the Cedaa Camp in Iraq’s Nineveh province. The convoy moved under the supervision of International Coalition forces.

According to reports, 13 convoys of Iraqis have departed from Hol Camp since the beginning of the year.

Since 2021, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, in coordination with the Iraqi government and the International Coalition, has continued to repatriate Iraqi citizens from the camp to their country at their own request.

The Hol Camp, considered one of the world’s most dangerous camps, has long been home to the families of ISIS militants. The Hol Camp houses 13,000 Iraqis, 15,000 Syrians, and 6,385 families of ISIS members.
