Unknown armed elements operating from positions on the western bank of the Euphrates River fired an RPG round at one of the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) positions in the village of Abu Hammam, east of Deir ez-Zor. The attack yesterday evening resulted in no casualties.
“Our forces responded appropriately, accurately targeting the source of the fire,” said the SDF Media Center, adding: “Calm currently prevails in the area, while our security units continue investigation and follow-up operations to identify the perpetrators.”
The SDF said their forces remain on high alert to protect local residents and ensure stability in the region.
According to military sources, the SDF has expanded its presence in rural eastern Deir ez-Zor. Additional checkpoints have been set up and patrols have been stepped up to ensure the safety of the population and prevent any further attacks at an early stage.
