Vienna Kurdish Film Days kicks off on 29 October

A new edition of the Vienna Kurdish Film Days (Serçavan Film Days) will open on 29 October. The cinema days are called “Stories Reflected on the Screen” and will present a rich program of feature films, documentaries, and short films offering different perspectives on the culture, history, and lived reality of Kurdistan.

The event is organized by the Federation of Kurdish Associations in Austria (FEYKOM) and the Kurdish Students Union (YXK), and supported by various organizations. This year marks the 11th edition of the Serçavan Film Days. The festival will showcase works by award-winning and nominated directors from the four parts of Kurdistan and Europe. As part of the event, donations will be collected for a cinema construction project in Amûdê, Rojava, supporting the creation of a new space for film, gathering, and hope in the region.

FEYKOM said: “We are delighted to once again welcome our audience at Votivkino this year.”
