It was announced that simultaneous marches will take place on 8 November in Cologne, as well as in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Luxembourg. The marches will be organized to demand the physical freedom of Abdullah Öcalan.
In its statement, the Federation of Democratic Kurdish Communities in Europe (FED-GEL) said that hundreds of people are expected to attend the events. It was noted that preparations for the march are ongoing in Stuttgart, in coordination with local assemblies and organizations.
FED-GEL emphasized the meaning and importance of this new phase, underlining its significance for Kurdish society. The marches were described as symbolizing the freedom of Abdullah Öcalan and as being connected to the Kurdish people’s goal of building a democratic and peaceful society.
The statement also noted that the events aim to express solidarity with the ongoing resistance in Kurdistan and the actions taking place in prisons. FED-GEL described the 8 November march as “a symbolic step in embracing a new process.”
