SDF arrests a prominent leader of ISIS

In coordination with the International Coalition, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) continue to conduct extensive security operations against remnants of the ISIS terrorist organization in various areas of northeastern Syria.

In a statement on Thursday, SDF Media Center said, “Throughout this month, our forces have carried out several high-quality operations that have resulted in the dismantling of terrorist cells and the arrest of numerous members and leaders of the organization, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure security and stability in the region.”

In this context, Special Operations Teams (TOL) affiliated with the Syrian Democratic Forces carried out a precise security operation on Wednesday in the town of Maskanah, east of Aleppo, with coordination and support from the International Coalition forces. During the operation, they successfully arrested one of the most prominent leaders of the ISIS terrorist organization.

“The operation followed detailed intelligence monitoring and surveillance of the movements of the terrorist Ahmed Khalaf al-Hussein, a native of Maskanah. Our forces raided his hideout and apprehended him without any injuries,” SDF said.

Investigations revealed that the terrorist led a cell responsible for securing equipment and materials used in manufacturing car bombs, with the intent of carrying out terrorist attacks targeting civilians and our forces alike.

“The Syrian Democratic Forces reaffirm their unwavering commitment to pursuing the remnants of the terrorist organization and dismantling its sleeper cells. They will continue to deliver decisive strikes against anyone who threatens the security and stability of the region, in order to preserve civil peace and protect the lives of civilians,” the statement added.
