The DEM Party Women’s Assembly issued a statement declaring that “those who target our women’s politics by fueling racism, sexism, and nationalism should know well that women will never give up standing together around the Peace and Democratic Society process.”
The statement added: “Especially in a time when the hope for peace among peoples and women is rising, it is no coincidence that fascist rhetoric is being used to target women politicians. Those who cling to male-dominated fascist ideologies that feed on war and attack the peoples’ and women’s demand for peace are the same ones who profit from war by pitting communities against each other.
The targeting of our comrades by distorting the statements of women politicians who speak about peace, through the actions of the executors of male-dominated fascist politics, is a clear example of this. Conducting perception operations through a language that fuels racism is a crime against society, and especially against women.”
The statement continued: “We have not remained silent in the face of these attacks on the hopes of society and women for peace, and we never will. Wherever we are, we will strengthen our struggle against fascism and continue to insist on an honorable peace. Not fascism, but women’s struggle for peace will prevail.”
