According to reports, a citizen lost his life after being targeted in an armed assault by unknown attackers in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor Canton.
According to ANHA, 39-year-old Xhelef Emaş El Hesen was attacked by assailants on motorcycles on the night of Thursday, 9 October, while returning home. The attackers fled the scene after the assault.
It was reported that Xhelef Emaş El Hesen was from the town of Abu Hemam in the canton and belonged to the El Keraan branch of the El Nehab tribe.
