The Internal Security Forces said in a statement that on Saturday evening, clashes took place with an ISIS cell in Mihemeid, part of the Deir Ezzor Canton.
The statement said: “As part of our duty to protect the safety and security of the region, our General Security Forces engaged in clashes with an ISIS cell in Mihemeid on Saturday afternoon.”
The Internal Security Forces reported that two ISIS members on a motorcycle had attacked a vehicle belonging to the Security Forces on Saturday morning.
Following the attack, both ISIS members were captured alive, and a motorcycle, along with numerous weapons and ammunition, was seized.
The statement added: “We will continue our fight against terrorists to protect the people of the region. Terrorist cells will be neutralized without hesitation.”
