Women’s delegation from North-East Syria meets with academics in Germany

The women’s delegation from North-East Syria met with German, Iranian, and Kurdish academics and women’s rights organizations in Germany.

The meetings discussed the developments in Syria, particularly the situation in the North-East, women’s issues, and the education process in the region.

While discussing the situation at the three universities in the region, the women’s delegation highlighted the importance of strengthening academic ties with German universities.

The delegation also met with Terre des Femmes (TDF), Germany’s largest women’s rights organization, to assess the situation of women in Syria. The delegation stated that the talks were positive and emphasized the importance of continuing the exchange of ideas and cooperation on education, human rights, and women’s issues.

The delegation, which has been holding meetings in Europe since September 6, includes Emine Omer, President of the North and East Syria Women’s Council; Muna El Yûsif, Spokesperson for the Syrian Women’s Council; Şehrezad El Casim, Spokesperson for the Zenûbiya Women’s Community; Jiyan Hisên, Coordination Member of Kongra Star; and Corcêt Bersum, President of the Syriac Women’s Union.
