Women’s Delegation from North-East Syria continues its talks in Berlin

The North and East Syria Women’s Delegation met with representatives of Women For Women International in Berlin.

The meeting on Monday, September 22, addressed support for women living in war zones, the current situation of women in Syria, and the challenges women face in the process of building a decentralized democratic Syria. The women’s delegation drew attention to the dangers faced by women from different communities, efforts to prevent women from taking on leading roles, and the struggle against these obstacles.

The meeting also highlighted the pioneering roles of women in developing the Autonomous Administration project, strengthening social solidarity, and establishing a democratic system in North and East Syria. Both sides emphasized the importance of women’s joint work, support for projects for women, and the necessity of empowering women in every aspect.

The North and East Syria Women’s Delegation consists of Emine Omer, President of the North and East Syria Women’s Council; Muna Yûsif, Spokesperson for the Syrian Women’s Council; Şehrezad El Casim, Spokesperson for the Zenûbiya Women’s Community; Jiyan Hisên, member of the Kongra Star Coordination; and Corcêt Bersûm, President of the Syriac Women’s Union.
