A checkpoint belonging to the Internal Security Forces in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo was attacked by armed groups linked to the Syrian Interim Government. The Sheikh Maqsoud Internal Security Forces responded firmly to the assault.
According to initial reports, three of the attackers were injured. During the incident, a drone was downed and the groups’ vehicles were seized.
In a statement, the General Command of the Internal Security Forces announced that the attack had been launched from the Şîhan Junction area and that the forces had responded strongly. The statement stressed that measures would continue to be taken to protect the safety of the people, ensure peace in the region, and counter any attempt that threatens civilian security.
