Artist Jülide Kural presents her video project

Artist Jülide Kural has presented her new project. She launched it following a weapons-burning ceremony organized by the PKK in Sulaymaniyah, South Kurdistan.

The video, titled I Promise Peace, features a script written by Associate Professor Dr. Süreyya Karacabey. Cinematographer and translator Sinem Bayraktar handled the editing, while Jülide Kural provided the voice-over.

The video includes images of families and homes affected by conflict, as well as footage of peace marches and white doves.

In the work, Jülide Kural issues a call to not remain silent for the sake of peace, repeatedly emphasizing the message I promise peace.

Kural’s words appear on the video: “If we say nothing, the letters that would save us all will be ashamed of themselves and crash onto the shore like a storm. If we remain silent. If I remain silent. I cannot remain silent. I promise peace.”
