One SDF fighter martyred, two others wounded repelling ISIS attack in Deir ez-Zor countryside

One SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) fighter was martyred and two others were wounded as they repelled a terrorist attack by an ISIS cell on one of SDF’s patrols, which was carrying out its routine work of maintaining security and stability in the town of Muhaymidah, in the western Deir ez-Zor countryside.

According to the SDF Media Center, the terrorists launched their cowardly attack on motorcycles, using machine guns. A clash ensued between SDF forces and the attacking terrorist cells, after which the terrorists fled under the fire of SDF fighters. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of one of SDF fighters and the wounding of two others.

“The attack is part of the terrorist organization’s futile attempts to destabilize our regions, taking advantage of the security vacuum prevailing in Syria after the fall of the defunct regime”, the SDF said.

The statement added, “Our forces affirm their commitment to continuing their missions and duties in pursuing the terrorist organization’s cells and striking with an iron fist to dry up its material and moral resources. They are committed to preserving security and civil peace in the regions and will not allow any party to tamper with them.”
