An armed attack was carried out on a checkpoint in the rural town of Gharanij in Deir ez-Zor, resulting in the killing of one Internal Security Forces member and injuries to two others. Search operations were launched in the area on Friday night.
The Press Center of the Internal Security Forces stated that unidentified armed people attacked the checkpoint in the town of Gharanij. A clash broke out after the attack was met with a response.
The statement said that as a result of the attack, one member of the Internal Security Forces fell as a martyr while two others were injured. The attackers fled the area.
