Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit, Deputy Chair of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Group, took the floor after the union confederations spoke at the 8th meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, established in the context of resolving the Kurdish issue.
Emphasizing that the historic process should not be wasted, Gülistan Kılıç Koçyiğit said, “Listening sessions are being held, but participants doubt if a solution can truly be found here! Undemocratic practices are poisoning this process; we need to move away from these practices. Your words do not match your actions! For the process to succeed, everyone must act responsibly. This peace must be everyone’s peace; we must protect the new language. We all have a responsibility to the peoples of Turkey.”
The 8th meeting of the Commission has concluded. At its 9th meeting tomorrow, the Commission will be joined by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), the Union of Agricultural Chambers of Turkey (TZOB), the Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK), the Confederation of Turkish Employers’ Unions (TİSK), the Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD), and the Independent Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD).
