The “Freedom for Leader Öcalan” march in Germany on its second day

The traditional Long March, organized every year, is taking place this year under the slogan “March for Freedom and Democracy.”

The march is staged in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) state, seeing the participation of around 150 Kurdish and internationalist young people from several European countries, including Germany, France, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Belgium.

On the first day of the action, activists marched through the city of Cologne. Today, they are marching through the city of Düsseldorf, holding discussions on the ideas of Abdullah Öcalan and distributing leaflets along the route.

Today’s stage of the march will be concluded at Corneliusplatz in the evening. Protesters will then attend an event at the Dortmund Democratic Kurdish Community Center.

On the third day, Friday, activists will gather in front of Dortmund Central Train Station and walk 11 km under the theme of “Youth and Culture.” In the evening, the video message from Abdullah Öcalan, shared after a 27-year hiatus, will be screened, and a press statement will be issued in five languages.

On day 4, Saturday, the participants will conclude the march at the Kurdish Culture Festival in Dortmund.
