ISIG: At least 194 workers died in August

The Workers’ Health and Work Safety Observatory (ISIG) has issued its report on workplace deaths for August.

According to the report, at least 194 workers lost their lives in a single month. This brings the number of workers killed on the job in the first eight months of 2025 to 1,359.

The report noted that among the dead were 13 children, 19 women, and 6 migrant workers. The highest number of deaths occurred in Istanbul, while Antalya, Sivas, Giresun, Balıkesir, Maraş, Muğla, Samsun, Kocaeli, Urfa, Çorum, Denizli, Diyarbakır, Izmir, Kayseri, Manisa, Mersin, Rize, Sakarya, and Tekirdağ were also among the most affected provinces.

By sector, 60 workers died in industry, 45 in agriculture, 44 in construction, and 43 in services.
