The statement said about martyr Cîhan Pepûle: “Our comrade was a beloved and valuable daughter of the Hewraman community. She opened her eyes to life amid the beauty of Hewraman, where our people raise their children with strong and pure values. On this foundation, our comrade embodied those values, upheld them in the guerrilla ranks, and nurtured them further. She was a daughter of the mountains, raised and shaped by the nature of Koselan and Shaho. She never lived detached from the values of natural society and preserved them at her core. She was the child of a region where children are still raised in the treasured Kurdish culture.

Inspired by her sister’s participation and by meeting comrades in the region, Comrade Cîhan Pepûle was introduced to the Apoist movement in 2015. After becoming familiar with guerrilla life and culture, she joined the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas in 2018 with great awareness and embraced Leader Apo’s ideas and philosophy. She became a woman guerrilla who felt responsible for and protective of every woman’s cry. She grew into a world of freedom, close to every woman subjected to oppression and violence. In our ranks, she always led a full and meaningful life.”

The statement continued: “After taking on many duties and responsibilities in the guerrilla, she decisively sought to specialize as a woman fighter in 2020, entering specialist training in sabotage. Through this training, she gained a deep tactical and strategic consciousness and prepared herself for every field. That same year, she moved toward the Mukriyan region, the land of her birth, and spearheaded many efforts there. Her contribution to organizing our people in the region was immense. During the Jin, Jiyan, Azadî Revolution, she took a leading role and worked tirelessly to organize the people, demonstrating exceptional commitment in practice.”

The statement underlined: “In our ranks, through her awareness and comradeship, she became an exemplary personality, always able to lead work and achieve success. Our comrade made an invaluable contribution to the organization of the people of Eastern Kurdistan and left us a legacy that we must always honor and uphold.

With her stance, comradeship, and life, she became a true representative. Walking in the footsteps of Martyrs Aryen Arê, Kawenda Agirî, and Cîhan Azad, she fully embodied the militancy of a free woman. She consistently engaged in self-criticism about her comradeship with Leader Apo, striving to fulfill it more completely. Her stance and life will remain an eternal example of living and struggling for us.

Once again, we extend our condolences to her family and to the patriotic people of Kurdistan, and we renew our pledge to realize the dreams of Comrade Cîhan Pepûle and the many comrades who struggle on this path. As HPJ, we will continue to work and struggle to the very end for a free Eastern Kurdistan on the basis of this legacy.”
