Five ISIS members who were allegedly preparing attacks on military centers, civilians, and service institutions were captured in a joint operation by the Internal Security Forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The Press Office of the Internal Security Forces of Northern and Eastern Syria released a statement regarding a special operation carried out in the southern countryside of Raqqa.
The statement said: “Our Anti-Terror Units (YAT), in coordination with the Special Units of the Internal Security Forces, conducted a special operation in the village of Kesrat. The operation was launched after an attempted suicide attack by ISIS cells against our forces was foiled. Following extensive tracking and investigation, the operation was carried out.
The operation was successfully concluded, and five ISIS members who were preparing attacks against military centers, civilians, and service institutions were captured.”
The statement also listed the materials seized during the operation:
“-3 Kalashnikov rifles
-2 shotguns
-1 pistol
-380 Kalashnikov rounds and 5 magazines
-Various technical equipment (computer, internet devices, mobile phones, and a camera).”
