Sheikh Murshid Xeznewî: Our people must trust the military forces that protect Rojava

In response to the recent threats against Rojava, both from the interim Damascus central government and the Turkish state, Sheikh Murshid Xeznewî stated that the Kurdish people always want to remain in dialogue and that Syria’s future can only be secured through dialogue and the recognition of differences.

However, the Kurdish people are always prepared against potential threats in Rojava and will unite around Rojava, said Sheikh Murshid Xeznewî and stated the following:

“The current government, HTS, and its partners are constantly sending threatening messages. The messages they send are not the kind that reassure our people, put our society at ease, seek to develop relations through dialogue and unity for the future of Syria, or prepare common ground.

They have been constantly issuing threats in their messages so far.  Everyone needs to be well aware of this. Our people must have confidence in themselves on this issue. Today, we have a political alliance in Rojava; moreover, a major conference was held recently. All the Kurdish parties, factions, and different groups in Syria participated in this conference. International powers also came together there.

Our military forces there are also on standby. We certainly do not want war. The Kurdish people have been in constant resistance throughout history and have never been the side that wanted war.  However, they are also prepared to protect their people and their gains against threats.

Our young women and men, just as they have resisted until now and defended themselves against injustice, are certainly prepared to face any potential threat. Therefore, the situation in Rojava is currently quite favorable.

We must be prepared for anything; we must take everything into account. If our people come under attack, our military forces will not hesitate to defend our land, our people, and our honor. Our people must always stand by this force, trust them, and maintain their hope in them at all times.”
