In the city of Qinê (Qenaya), part of the Euphrates Canton, the renovation of the Qinê Health Center, which began on July 5, 2025, was completed, and the facility was reopened in a ceremony on September 1, 2025. The center will provide health services to nearly 50,000 people living in the city center and 50 surrounding villages.
The center consists of eight rooms, including an emergency department, general outpatient clinic, women’s and children’s health units, support services, psychological counseling, and blood and sugar testing sections. In addition, a pharmacy has been opened to meet the community’s need for medicine.
Doctors, health workers, members of the Martyrs’ Families Assembly, and officials from the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton attended the opening. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was carried out by martyr’s mother, Emine Ahmed.
Ferhan Hec Isa, co-chair of the Autonomous Administration of the Euphrates Canton, underlined at the ceremony the importance of the center for the local community and said: “Our primary duty has always been to serve our people. We thank everyone who brought this project to life and contributed to it. This service is for all peoples and benefits everyone.”
The city of Qinê, located west of Kobanê, was liberated from the occupation of ISIS in 2015. Since then, the Autonomous Administration has carried out various projects to strengthen health services in the region. The Qinê Health Center now stands as the latest step in these efforts, opened to serve the people.
