The Relations Office of the Syrian Democratic Council (MSD) held a seminar titled “A Strategic Outlook for Syria’s Future” at its headquarters in Raqqa. The seminar was attended by representatives of political, social, and civil society organizations.
The seminar evaluated the ongoing crisis in Syria, as well as the current political and economic developments. The MSD also shared its vision for a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
Speaking at the seminar, Hasan Mohammed Ali, Co-Chair of the MSD Relations Office, stated that at a time when everyone emphasizes political agreements and particularly the issue of integration, they raise the following questions: “Why is the first and most important issue being ignored? Are they committed to implementing the terms of the agreements? Why are they not taking steps regarding the ceasefire? Why do they disregard the will of the people represented by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria?”
Mohammed Ali continued: “Unfortunately, they are not acting in accordance with the ceasefire agreement. In the past, we faced grave dangers. Massacres were committed against civilians. International laws were violated. At a time when we are refraining from hate speech, social media is being used to spread hate on a massive scale. This threatens internal peace. It prevents opportunities for dialogue. We often speak about political solutions, but until now, influential parties and politicians have not presented a proper vision to end the conflict.”
Mohammed Ali pointed to the interventions of foreign powers and added: “We are closely monitoring the interventions of the Turkish state and Israel. Their interference cannot be separated from the current situation in North and East Syria. We must demonstrate a clear and unified stance. Their interventions directly affect the fate of our people and the future of Syria as a whole. Today, all countries speak of the importance of stability in Syria. But you must know that without achieving justice and recognizing the rights of all components, no stability is possible.”
Hasan Mohammed Ali, Co-Chair of the MSD Relations Office, continued his speech: “The MSD is carefully studying regional and international dynamics. With current developments, this has become even more important. It is clear that the region is moving toward a new transformation and a new political design. From Gaza to Lebanon, from Syria to Iraq, international powers are reshaping the region.”
Mohammed Ali added: “If we compare the statements made over the past month by international officials, including Tom Barack, we can see the uncertainty in their policies. They seek to impose policies detached from the current reality and the will of the people. The massacres committed against our people, especially against the Kurdish people, will never be forgotten. To prevent these massacres from recurring, the perpetrators must be held accountable. The future requires social solidarity around the democratic project. Relations with democratic forces both inside and outside the country must be further strengthened. Therefore, the war has not only become a struggle between resistance forces and the authorities but has turned into a struggle for the fate of the entire region.”
During the seminar, participants engaged in evaluations and discussions. They called on all Syrian parties to work together to ensure a national project that guarantees the rights of all components.
At the end of the seminar, it was emphasized that dialogue and contact between all parties must continue.
