Young Kurdish woman moved to Sanandaj juvenile detention after arrest by IRGC agents

Roghayyeh (Zhinou) Karimi, an 18-year-old Kurdish woman from Marivan, Kurdistan Province, who was detained by the Intelligence Organisation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) earlier this month, has been transferred to the Juvenile Detention Centre in Sanandaj, also in Kurdistan Province.

Karimi was arrested on 7 August by IRGC intelligence agents in Marivan and taken to the agency’s Shahramfar detention facility in Sanandaj.

She was recently moved to Sanandaj’s Juvenile Detention Centre after her interrogation was completed.

Throughout her detention, Karimi has been denied access to a lawyer and visits from her family.
