Pressure and threats rise in Kırşehir Prison

According to a report by Welat News Agency (Ajansa Welat), prisoners’ fundamental rights in Kırşehir High Security Prison are being restricted, while provocative behavior and physical violence by guards have intensified.

Families, sharing information received from their relatives, said: “Oppression and pressure in the prison increase with each passing day. The administration and guards provoke prisoners with fascist attitudes. Physical torture is being carried out. After the commission established for a solution, the pressures grew even further. Prison staff have attached wolf symbols to the shoulders of their camouflage uniforms. Friends who resisted being filmed by cameras were placed in solitary confinement. In addition, they are trying to move us into the same corridor as a section referred to as the neutral ward.”

Prisoners stated that, through their lawyers, they have reported these rights violations to the Human Rights Association (IHD), Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) MP Ali Bozan, and other relevant institutions.

Prisoners emphasized that despite all these practices, they will continue to defend their rights against injustice and unlawfulness.
