Autonomous Administration officials and US delegation meet in Amman

Ilham Ehmed, Co-Chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, and Mazlum Abdi, Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), met with a US delegation in Amman, the capital of Jordan.

The meeting was attended by Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Senior Member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from the Democratic Party; Representative Joe Wilson from the Republican Party; and Tom Barrack, the U.S. Special Representative for Syria.

According to statements made by representatives of the Autonomous Administration on their social media accounts, the meeting discussed the implementation process of the agreement signed on March 10 between SDF General Commander Mazlum Abdi and Damascus Government President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

Senator Shaheen reiterated Washington’s support for the SDF during the meeting and highlighted the SDF’s strategic role in the fight against terrorism.

The US delegation also met with Ahmed al-Sharaa in the capital Damascus prior to the meeting in Amman.
