The Network of Kurdish and Iranian Prisoners said that Kurdish artist Emin Kerimi, who has been held in custody for 40 days, was arrested by the Iranian regime for “supporting the Jin, Jiyan, Azadî (Women, Life, Freedom) revolution” and sent to Urmia Prison.

According to the report, Emin Kerimi, a theater actor and artist from Urmia in Rojhilatê Kurdistan, was arrested after 40 days in detention and transferred to Urmia Central Prison.

It was claimed that during his detention, the artist was denied the right to meet with his family and lawyer, and that he was interrogated. In addition, his digital media accounts were placed under surveillance by security forces.

Emin Kerimi had previously been arrested by security forces during the “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” revolution and was released after being held in custody for some time.

On June 10, he was arrested again while returning from Turkey, but the reason for his arrest has still not been disclosed.
