Ramin Gorgani, a former Kurdish political prisoner from Kamyaran, Kurdistan province, has been detained by the Ministry of Intelligence and taken to a detention centre in Sanandaj, also in Kurdistan Province, the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) reported.
Ministry agents arrested Gorgani without a warrant on a street in Kamyaran on 10 August.
They also raided his family home, conducted a search, and seized several of his personal belongings.
Gorgani is reportedly being held under a 20-day temporary detention order at the Ministry’s detention facility in Sanandaj.
He was previously arrested in Kamyaran on 5 March 2024 by the same security agency and released on bail after spending several weeks in detention.
The Islamic Revolutionary Court of Kamyaran later sentenced him to six months in prison for “propaganda against the state”, a sentence which was subsequently converted to a monetary fine.
