The Workers’ Health and Work Safety Observatory (ISIG) released its July workplace murder report. According to the report, 204 workers died in July. The report stated that Istanbul was the province with the highest number of workplace murders, and the most common causes were traffic/service vehicle accidents, falls from height, and being crushed.
The report noted that of those who lost their lives, 195 were men, 9 were women, 9 were child workers, and 7 were migrants.
The breakdown of deaths by sector was as follows: 26% agriculture/forestry, 23% construction/road, 13% transportation, 7% municipality services, and 5% accommodation.
