The General Command of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria reported that their forces were targeted by two attacks on Wednesday.
According to the General Command, two gunmen riding a motorcycle targeted one of their centers in Diban, Deir ez-Zor countryside 11:00 a.m. today by directly opening fire, which resulted in the injury of one of their members.
The injured member was immediately taken for medical treatment, while Internal Security Forces launched a sweep operation in the area in pursuit of the perpetrators, with the aim of apprehending them and bringing them to justice.
In the second attack at 1:30 p.m. today, a terrorist group targeted a checkpoint of Internal Security Forces at the al-Atal roundabout between the towns of al-Busayrah and al-Shuhayl, firing from a motorcycle. Internal Security Forces responded to the source of the fire, causing the attackers to flee.
Remarking that the attacks seek to destabilize the region, the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria reaffirmed their commitment to fulfilling their duty in protecting the security and stability of their regions. “These cowardly attempts will not deter us from pursuing anyone who dares to threaten the safety and security of our people,” it underlined.
