The first meeting was held this Tuesday under the chairmanship of Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş.
The commission, consisting of 48 deputies, includes 21 members from the AKP, 10 from the CHP, 4 from the MHP, 4 from the DEM Party, 3 from Yeni Yol, and 1 member each from the DSP, YRP, TİP, EMEP, BBP, and HÜDA PAR. The commission’s name has not yet been determined.
The speaking section of the meeting was open to the press. For the first time, special accreditation cards were issued for reporters, while cameramen and photographers were not allowed in. It was announced that journalists would be asked to leave the hall before the negotiation section began.
It was learned that government MPs expressed the opinion that the meetings should be held behind closed doors. Deputies who did not have the opportunity to speak at the first meeting will take the floor at the second meeting scheduled for 8 August.
