The Democratic Alevi Federation (FEDA) and the Democratic Alevi Women’s Union (DAKB) are preparing for a significant commemoration on the anniversary of the 73rd Ferman (genocide) carried out against the Yazidi people by ISIS on 3 August 2014.
The new Yazidi temple, constructed in the village of Dugirkê in Rojava’s Amûdê district with support from FEDA and scheduled to open on August 3, 2025, aims both to keep the memory of the genocide alive and to stand as a symbol of the Yazidi people’s resistance and rebirth.
In their statement, FEDA and DAKB emphasized that this temple will be a place of healing, solidarity, and enlightenment.
Condemning the genocide against the Yazidis, FEDA and DAKB declared: “Once again, we affirm our solidarity with the Yazidi people.” The Alevi organizations also saluted the SDF (Syrian Democratic Forces) fighters who resisted ISIS brutality and invited all communities to attend the ceremony.
