The Druze establish their committees to protect the rights and future of citizens in Suwayda

The Spiritual Presidency of the Miwehidîn (Druze) Muslim Community in Syria issued a statement under the leadership of Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri.

According to the statement on Saturday, legal human rights committees have been formed to organize legal and human rights work throughout the Suwayda province and to protect the rights of citizens.

The Presidency emphasized that the committees were formed in accordance with the will of the people of Suwayda, stating, “The aim is to repair the damage and protect the future of the people of Suwayda.”

According to the statement, the committees established are as follows:

High-Level Legal Committee,

Fact-Finding and Damage Assessment Committee,

Complaints Review Committee,

Aid Distribution Committee,

Health Committee,

Religious Affairs Committee, and service committees

The Presidency noted that they would be able to document the events within the legal framework, defend human rights, and prevent chaos.
