Belkıs Durmuş was murdered by her son, Ali Durmuş, in the Mut district of Mersin.
On the other hand, Ömer Çınar murdered his aunt-in-law Aygül Çınar and her mother, Türkan Söylemez, in the Akdeniz district.
The perpetrators fled after the murders.
In a post on its social media account about the killing of women, the Mimoza Women’s Association stated the following: “As long as this judicial system that protects the perpetrators and disregards women’s right to life remains unchanged, femicides will not stop. Every day, another woman is torn from life due to this justice system that excuses male violence and fails to punish the perpetrators. Women demand justice—impunity must end! Enforce Law 6284—stop violence, not women.”
