German Foreign Ministry’s Middle East Director meets SDF and YPJ General Commanders

The German Foreign Ministry’s Near East, Middle East and North Africa Director Tobias Tunkel held a meeting with Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) General Commander Mazlum Abdi and YPJ General Commander Rohilat Efrin.

Tunkel posted a message on his personal social media account in which he referred to a meeting he had with the Syrian Democratic Forces General Command and added a photo showing him with SDF General Commander Mazlum Abdi and YPJ General Commander Rohilat Efrin.

Tunkel wrote: “The rights and interests of Syrian Kurds can best be safeguarded in an inner-Syrian dialogue with Damascus. I spoke with Mazloum Abdi about the urgent issues to be addressed in direct contacts between SDF and HTS leadership. We also discussed continuous joint efforts against ISIS.”
