47 women murdered, 97 forced to commit suicide, 4 executed in Eastern Kurdistan in 2024

The Eastern Kurdistan Human Rights Association stated in its 2014 report that 156 people, including 4 women, were executed during the past year.

According to the report, 586 people, including 30 women, were detained and 132 people were sentenced to a total of 398 years and 3 months in prison.

On the other hand, 253 people, including 97 women and 156 men, lost their lives in various incidents in 2024, while 153 people, including 106 men and 47 women, were killed.

The Human Rights Association drew attention to the state’s pressure on non-governmental organisations and the media and stressed that the real balance sheet could be much heavier.
