DEM Party Youth Assembly member Güvercin remanded in custody

Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) Youth Assembly and Party Assembly (PM) member Rohat Güvercin was taken into custody at Sabiha Gökçen International Airport on 31 December 2024 while returning to Turkey from abroad. He was sent to prison by the court to which he was referred on Thursday.

The DEM Party Youth Assembly made a statement on its social media account about the arrest. The statement said: “As a result of the attacks by those afraid of the struggle and determination of young people, our member Rohat Güvercin was arrested. Every place is an area of ​​resistance and struggle for young people. The struggle against fascism continues!”
