KCDK-E: We call on our people to stand up for Manbij
The canton of Manbij in the autonomous region of Northern and Eastern Syria is under massive attack by the Turkish army and its jihadist proxies. In view of the dramatic situation, the KCDK-E has called for immediate and continuous protests in front of parliaments, Turkish consulates and UN and EU representations.
In a statement, the KCDK-E said: “The Turkish state is attacking Manbij with the intention of occupying it with its air force and its mercenaries. In order to maintain his hegemony in the region after the fall of Assad and to commit genocide against the Kurds, he wants to occupy the free living space of the peoples in Rojava with his mercenary gangs recruited from around the world.”
The statement added: “The Middle East and all of Syria are going through an important process. After the fall of Assad, the situation has changed fundamentally. The achievements made by the Kurdish people in Rojava are in serious danger. The Turkish state represents a major threat and a permanent obstacle to peace in the region.
As a declared enemy of the Kurds, the Turkish state is sending its jihadist gangs into the field and planning massacres using complex methods. It wants to prevent the Kurdish people from having a say at all costs.”
The statement continued: “As Kurds living in Europe, we must put the new threat of war in Syria and Rojava on the global agenda. We must be the voice of the peoples living in free conditions in Rojava.
As KCDK-E, we call for solidarity with Manbij and protests across Europe against the massacre planned by the Turkish state with jihadist gangs.”
