Activists from Bern and Fribourg take over Freedom for Öcalan Vigil in Strasbourg

The Freedom for Abdullah Öcalan Vigil was launched on 25 June 2012. This is week 650 and a new group of activists from Bern and Fribourg took over the action.

This week, Orhan Hazar, Ali Bilen, Ercüment Ziyanak and Osman Ünal.

Orhan Hazar spoke on behalf of the group, and said: “The freedom of our Leader means the freedom of the Kurdish people. The Leader’s thoughts came into being in the Middle East. Leader Öcalan is the symbol of saving the Kurdish people from darkness and captivity and transforming them into a free society.”

Hazar added that the attacks by Turkish state-backed gangs in Northern and Eastern Syria are also aimed at preventing Öcalan’s thoughts from coming into being.

Orhan Hazar said that they were proud and honored to be holding this week’s vigil and continued as follows: “The capitalist system wants to prevent our Leader from meeting with his people, because he holds the key to solving the problems in the Middle East. We are keeping this vigil so that Leader Öcalan’s voice is heard. We will do our best for our Leader. We will do our best to be worthy of our Leader and the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrillas.”
