Fethullah Gülen has died

It was reported that 83-year-old Turkish Muslim preacher Fethullah Gülen has died. The news was announced on Gülen’s publication, the Herkül website. The preacher was living in the U.S.

A post made by the Herkül website’s X account said that Fethullah Gülen died on 20 October.

Fethullah Gülen’s niece Ebuseleme Gülen also confirmed the news of his death.

Gülen built a powerful Islamic movement in Turkey and beyond but spent his later years accused of orchestrating an attempted coup against Turkish leader Tayyip Erdoğan, accusations which he denied.
