KONGRA GEL: Öcalan’s birthday is the birthday of a free Kurd

KONGRA GEL released a written message to mark Öcalan’s 73rd birthday.

The message reads: “After the First World War, the Kurdish people, threatened by capitalist modernity and the invading states, faced the danger of disintegration. The Kurdish people rebelled against it several times, but they could not get rid of massacres, could not emancipate themselves.

Leader Öcalan was born on 4 April 1949 when the people of Kurdistan faced the danger of further massacres. He recognized himself and the reality of the people under these circumstances. As a free Kurd, he started the historic march against the massacre attempts and the collaborators who acted on behalf of the enemy.

The Kurdish leader was reborn with the PKK organization. Together with the ARGK and ERNK resistance, the PKK struggle gave hope to the Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan. The Kurdish people began to struggle against the invaders both at home and abroad.

He identified women as the most oppressed nation. He said that ‘society and the nation cannot be liberated unless women are free’.

The conspiratorial states, the invading Turkish state, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), which represents collaborating Kurds who are allied with the Turkish state, were disturbed and scared by these developments. Therefore, they organized an international conspiracy against Öcalan to eliminate the achievements of the free Kurds.

However, Öcalan, who understood the plot of the conspiratorial forces, realized his third birth by introducing the paradigm of freedom, and became a hope for freedom for all humanity.

The paradigm of democratic modernity, women’s freedom and democratic ecological perspective resonated all over the world, giving hope to the supporters of freedom. Öcalan’s ideas are not restricted only to the people of Kurdistan, but also became a great hope for all pro-freedom people, progressive humanity, especially women’s liberation.

His leadership has been recognized all over the world, yet conspiratorial forces are continuing their attacks against him, the Kurdish people and the freedom struggle.

The AKP-MHP and the KDP are preparing for a major offensive against the guerrilla forces after their defeat in 2021. All the people of Kurdistan and our friends have to mobilize against it. Kurdistan parties and institutions should not remain silent towards the attacks of the anti- Kurdish Turkish state and its collaborator KDP. Today is the day of resistance against occupation and betrayal. The unity, success and freedom of our people rely on this resistance.

Öcalan’s physical freedom depends on us. His freedom will bring a defeat to fascism. His freedom will pave the way for democracy and freedom of the peoples in all four parts of Kurdistan and the entire Middle East.

Everyone needs to create a work plan for Öcalan’s physical freedom. Weekly, monthly, 6-month annual plans should be prepared. It is necessary to mobilize against the occupation and betrayal in every field by working with an Apoist spirit.
